Russia prepares to deliver it.. New photos of Su-35 fighters in Egyptian camouflage appear leaving Kanaz factory

Some recent photos of Russian-made Su-35 combat aircraft in the colors of the Egyptian army appeared on August 20, 2022 at Komsomolsk-on-Amur Airport during the “Army 2022” forum.

Satellite images taken on July 21, 2022 of the yard of the Knaz (Gagarin) Aircraft Factory in the Russian city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur show the number of 21 Su-35 fighters in Egyptian camouflage.

Egypt ordered up to 30 fighters from Russia as part of a 2018 deal under which Washington threatened Cairo with sanctions. And 22 of them were supposed to be delivered by KnAAZ by the end of 2020.

Where might it be headed? Are you going to Egypt, manufactured specifically for it? Or will it be sold to Iran, which showed great interest in obtaining it following news of Egypt’s abandonment of it due to Western sanctions?

The Su-35 is highly maneuverable and multi-role fighters that can attack distant land and air targets, especially heavy concrete targets such as fortifications and runways.

Sukhoi Su-35 fighters can reach a speed of 2,800 kilometers (1,700 miles) per hour at an altitude of 11 kilometers (seven miles), and have a range of 4,500 kilometers (2,800 miles). The addition of external fuel tanks will allow the fighter to travel greater distances without the need to refuel, although its in-flight refueling capabilities make it competitive with US F-35 fighter jets.
