MOSCOW (Archyde.com) – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday accused NATO member Poland of having ambitions to occupy the territory of the former Soviet state, saying any aggression once morest Russia’s neighbor and close ally Belarus would be seen as an attack on Russia.

Putin told a televised Security Council meeting that Moscow would “use all means” to respond to any aggression once morest Belarus, which forms the loose “Union State” with Russia.

The Polish News Agency (PAP) quoted the Secretary-General of the Warsaw Security Committee as saying today that the Security Committee decided on the 19th to move military units to eastern Poland following members of the Russian mercenary organization Wagner Group (Wagner Group) arrived in Belarus. Poland denies it has any territorial ambitions for Belarus.

Putin also said in his speech that western Poland was a gift to Poland from Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, and Russia would remind the Poles of this.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki made this apparent in a tweet tonight, when he said: “Stalin was a war criminal responsible for killing hundreds of thousands of Poles. The facts of history cannot be disputed.”

“The ambassador of the Russian Federation will be summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” he said.

Belarus said yesterday that the Wagner mercenary group had begun training Belarusian special forces at a military firing range several kilometers from the Polish border.

Russia has begun deploying tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus for the first time in recent weeks. Putin will meet Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Russia on Tuesday, the Kremlin said. Putin often speaks to Lukashenko.

Germany and NATO are ready to support Poland in defending the military alliance’s eastern flank, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said today.

Putin said there were media reports that Poland and Lithuania had plans to form a joint force that would be used in military operations in western Ukraine, where it would eventually occupy territory. Parts of western Ukraine were formerly part of Poland.

“It is well known that they also want to take over Belarusian territory,” Putin said, without offering any evidence. Central News Agency (Translation)
