Russia is negotiating a discount on oil with a number of Asian countries. Against the background of the discussion by the G7 countries of the introduction of the maximum cost for Russian oil, a discount is offered in the Asian market, reports Bloomberg.
Discounts, according to the source of the publication, reach 30 percent.
The idea of introducing a maximum price for Russian oil was discussed at the G7 leaders’ summit at the end of June. Then the media reported that the limit should be $40-60 per barrel. On the followingnoon of August 24, the price of a barrel of Brent was regarding $100.
The initiative was commented by Russian President Vladimir Putin. In particular, he stated that the adoption of the decision would lead to the same thing that happened with gas (on the followingnoon of August 24, the exchange price reached $3,100 per 1,000 cubic meters). “The result will be the same – price rise. Oil prices will skyrocket,” Putin said.
