kyiv, Ukraine (AP) — Russia fired regarding 110 missiles overnight, plus drones, at Ukrainian targets in one of the biggest attacks of the year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Friday.
Most of the missiles and drones were shot down but at least seven civilians were killed and an unknown number of people were trapped under the rubble, according to Ukrainian authorities. In addition, dozens of injuries were reported.
Zelenskyy noted that Kremlin forces used a wide variety of weapons, including ballistic and cruise missiles.
Russia “launched seemingly everything it had” once morest targets across Ukraine, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yurii Ihnat said.
The roughly 18-hour assault, which began Thursday and lasted overnight, hit six cities, including the capital, kyiv, and other areas from the east to the west of the country, authorities said.
