Flames rose from the building and the sky was covered with black smoke.
A shopping mall in Kremenchuk, central Ukraine, has been hit by a missile attack by a squadron of Russian long-range bombers.
At least 16 people have been killed and more than 50 injured, according to Ukrainian authorities.
It is known that there were more than a thousand civilians inside the shopping mall at the time.
“Today’s raid on the Kremenchuk shopping mall in Russia is one of the most blatant acts of terrorism in European history. It is not an accidental blow, it is a Russian attack aimed precisely at the shopping mall.”
On the same day, Russian troops fired rockets at people gathered to collect water in eastern Lisichansk, killing at least eight people, foreign media reported.
The bombing took place on the same day that additional sanctions once morest Russia and aid to Ukraine were agreed upon at the G7 summit in Germany.
“Indiscriminate attacks on innocent civilians are war crimes,” the G7 leaders said in a joint statement. “President Putin and Russian officials should be held accountable.”
At this meeting, the G7 agreed to support Ukraine’s $29.5 billion of government operating budget this year and KRW 38 trillion of our money, and promised military support and security guarantees until needed.
President Zelensky, who met G7 leaders by video, appealed that “the war must end before winter comes.”
Meanwhile, at the request of Ukraine, the UN Security Council will hold a meeting today (28th) to discuss Russia’s missile attack on shopping malls and the killing of civilians.
