Russia eliminates foreign mercenaries who acted in Ukraine raid

Russian forces eliminated foreign mercenaries and soldiers and equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces participating in an attempted raid in the Russian province of Kursk, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

“15 militants were eliminated by the impact of a missile with a thermobaric warhead against the temporary deployment of foreign mercenaries on the southern outskirts of Sudzha,” reads the agency’s statement.

The military ministry reported that Russian troops continued to suppress attempts by Ukrainian mobile groups to penetrate Russian territory. The Russian Army attacked the personnel and equipment of the kyiv regime near the Russian towns of Nikolayevo-Dárino, Guyevo, Lyubimovka, Zeliony Shlyaj and Sverdlikovo. In addition, Russian aviation and missile forces attacked enemy reserves on the territory of the Sumy region.

“The operation to destroy the formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues,” the Ministry highlighted. Throughout the day, Ukrainian troops lost up to 175 soldiers and 36 armored vehicles, including 10 tanks, three armored personnel carriers, two infantry fighting vehicles, 21 armored fighting vehicles, as well as one vehicle, three field artillery guns and a BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher.

According to the latest data, in total, during the fighting in the Kursk area, Ukrainian losses amounted to 1.120 military personnel and 140 armored vehicles, including 22 tanks, 20 armored personnel carriers, eight infantry fighting vehicles, 88 armored combat vehicles.
