The spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, reported Tuesday that part of the troops that participated in recent military exercises in his country began to withdraw to their garrisons.
Konashenkov said units from the Western and Southern military regions have started to board trains and transport vehicles as the military exercises come to an end.
The spokesman said that military attaches from foreign embassies in Belarus will be able to observe the last stage of the Russian-Belarusian military exercise Allied Resolve 2022, including combat firing at the Obuz-Lesnevsky training ground, on February 19.
However, Konashenkov pointed out that large-scale military exercises are continuing and almost all military regions and airborne forces are participating in it.
According to the Ministry, Allied Determination 2022 will last until February 20.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba said last Tuesday that, together with his Western allies, he had succeeded in stopping “further escalation of the current crisis with Russia.”
