Russia attacks kyiv with ballistic missiles. Ukraine says it intercepted them all

kyiv, Ukraine (AP) — Russia launched eight ballistic missiles at kyiv that were shot down Monday morning, according to the Ukrainian air force. The attack left one injured by shrapnel and three other people suffered strong stress reactions, according to authorities.

Several loud explosions rang out in the Ukrainian capital following 4 a.m., when the city was under a nighttime curfew. Then the air raid sirens sounded.

Interior Minister Ihor Kylmenko said that in the Darnytskyi district of eastern kyiv, the remains of an intercepted missile fell without catching fire, and elsewhere in the capital the shock wave broke the windows of a house.

kyiv is often attacked by Russian drones and missiles.

Just two weeks ago, the capital suffered what Ukrainian authorities described as the most intense drone attack since the full-scale Russian invasion began in 2022. According to the Ukrainian air force, Russia used 75 Iranian-made Shahed drones once morest the capital , of which 74 were destroyed by anti-aircraft defenses.

Elsewhere in Ukraine, 18 Russian drone attacks were reported and intercepted, mostly in the southern region of Mykolaiv.
