Atlanta, United States of America (CNN) – A foreign citizen was arrested in the Russian city of St. Petersburg for his “inappropriate” behavior once morest a 15-year-old girl, according to what was reported by the official Russian news agency (Tass) on the press services of the Ministry of the Interior.
Police told TASS that the suspect was a US citizen, without giving his name. CNN has reached out to the US State Department for comment, without receiving a response.
The agency said in its news: “Journalists were informed of the matter on Sunday during a press service by the Ministry of Interior in St. Petersburg and Leningrad.”
The Russian Interior Ministry said: “On April 2, 2023, an investigation group was formed in light of the implementation of operational and investigative measures represented in the arrest of a foreign citizen born in 1986 on suspicion of committing the specified crime in a residential building on Main Street, 4A, Metalostroy, Kolpinsky District.”
The Russian Ministry of Interior added: “The mother of the assaulted girl reported that an unknown person had committed an inappropriate behavior towards a child on a bus.”
