The grain agreement between Ukraine and Russia, which expires on Monday, is “over” announced Moscow. It will be extended “as soon as the conditions are met”.
The agreement on the export of Ukrainian cereals which expires at midnight this Monday is “de facto over”, the Kremlin said. Russia assures us that it will be ready to return to it “immediately” when its conditions are met.
‘The Black Sea deal has de facto ended today,’ told reporters Kremlin spokesmanDmitry Peskov, adding that “as soon as the part (of the agreements) concerning Russia is satisfied, Russia will immediately return to the grain agreement”.
On Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin estimated that the main objective of the Ukrainian grain agreement had not been achievedduring a phone call with his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa.

The grain agreement signed by Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the United Nations has enabled, over the past year, the release of nearly 33 million tonnes of grain from Ukrainian ports despite the conflict.
Agreement concluded in July 2022
In July 2022, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the United Nations signed the Black Sea Grain Initiative to allow Ukrainian grain exports. Over the past year, it has enabled nearly 33 million tonnes of grain to be taken out of Ukrainian ports despite the conflict.
This crucial agreement, which relieved the global food crisis caused by the war, has since been extended several times, the last in May, for two months. Moscow had then demanded respect for a second agreement signed at the same time with the UN to facilitate its own exports of food products and fertilizers.
