Ukrainian soldiers and police have conducted a large number of exercises in recent days.

Ukraine said on Sunday that it wanted a meeting with Russia and other members of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) within the next 48 hours to discuss the buildup of Russian troops on its border.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba accused Russia of ignoring his government following Kiev on Friday invoked a section of the Vienna Convention, a set of security agreements, to demand that Moscow explain its military activities in area.

According to Convention from Viennaof which Russia is a party, OSCE members can request information regarding a member’s military activities.

“If Russia is serious when it talks regarding the indivisibility of security in the OSCE space, it must honor its commitment to military transparency to reduce tensions and improve security for all,” Kuleba said.
