Russia added Norway to its list of countries “committing hostile acts once morest Russian diplomatic and consular missions abroad,” the Russian government press service announced Thursday.

The list of countries that commit “hostile actions” establishes restrictions on embassies, consulates and representative offices that hire people residing on Russian territory.

The decree can mean a complete ban, or it can allocate a specific number of Russian residents that those countries can hire.

Under the new decree, Norway is assigned a limit of 27 employees.

“We have adopted the Russian presidential decree ‘On the application of measures once morest the unfriendly actions of foreign States’,” reads the government statement.
The list is not final and “taking into account the current hostile actions of foreign states directed once morest Russian missions abroad, it can be expanded,” the government statement added.

Other States that appear in the list of countries that commit “hostile actions” are: the United States, the Czech Republic, Greece, Denmark, Slovenia, Croatia and Slovakia.

In addition to this list of countries that commit “hostile actions”, Russia also has another list, which is a list of “hostile countries”.

Some background: Norway was added to the “hostile countries” list in March 2022, shortly following the start of the war in Ukraine, but has now been added to the “hostile actions” list.

The list of “hostile countries” also includes Australia, Albania, Andorra, United States, United Kingdom, Iceland, Canada, Liechtenstein, Micronesia, Monaco, Norway, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, San Marino, North Macedonia, Singapore, Taiwan, Ukraine, Montenegro, Switzerland and Japan.
