Russia said Thursday that Ukraine’s drone attack on the Kremlin on Tuesday was decided by the United States.

“We know for a fact that decisions on such actions, such terrorist attacks, are not taken in Kiev, (but) in Washington, in particular. Kiev only executes the orders given to it,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a press briefing.

He also claimed that the targets of these attacks were not always determined by Ukraine, but by the United States, and then passed on to Kyiv to be “executed”.

“You will understand that only a small part of this data is leaked. But it is very important that Washington knows that we are well aware of this, and realizes the danger of such direct participation in the conflict,” Peskov also said.

The Kremlin spokesman added that the Russian intelligence services, as well as other agencies, were conducting thorough investigations into the drone attack, the conclusions of which, he said, would be established by those responsible of the investigation.

The Kremlin said on Wednesday that Ukraine attempted to launch an attack on the Kremlin using two drones, which were shot down overnight Tuesday-Wednesday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials have since denied Kyiv’s involvement in the drone attack.
