There is an increased rush at the Aldi checkouts. Now the discounter has to react and is introducing new measures.

With these rushes at the checkouts, Aldi is reaching its limits. Now the discounter had to react with new measures.

That’s why Aldi reacted

One sometimes gets the impression that there is a competition between the cashier and the customer at the checkout. Who is faster in the end? But that’s exactly why there are always complaints from customers.

Because of the high speed, many customers can no longer keep up with putting the goods in the trolley. This often leads to traffic jams and it is not uncommon for something to break.

This innovation is available from Aldi

Aldi has therefore reacted and would like to test an innovation. The cashless branch should represent the concept of the future. New technology is intended to make shopping even more convenient for customers.

The first test branch in which the new system is to be put through its paces is in the Netherlands. The branch has no cash registers and customers can shop without having to stand up.

This is how the cash register branch works

“Aldi Shop & Go” is connected to an app. Customers can use the app on their cell phone to shop in the branch. To do this, they deposit a credit card for later payment in the app. In the branch, they log in with the app.

Attached sensors detect which products the customer puts in the shopping cart. Customers can then simply leave the store. The app automatically debits the purchased products.
