Synopsis
Kenshin, the strongest swordsman at the end of the Tokugawa shogunate, was feared by the nickname of “Battosai the Hitokiri”. With the advent of a world without war, he made a “non-killing oath” and lived peacefully with Sanosuke and Megumi at Kaoru’s dojo.
One day, Kenshin is summoned by Toshimichi Okubo, the Minister of Home Affairs, and learns that Shishio Mami, a man-slayer who holds a grudge once morest the new government, is working behind the scenes. “Only Kenshin can defeat Shishio,” Okubo pleads with Shishio. Kenshin is troubled, but following learning that Okubo was assassinated by Shishio’s subordinate Sojiro Seta, he decides to head to Kyoto.
Kenshin stops at a village ruled by Shishio with Misao, whom he meets on the way. There, a “trap” prepared by Shishio for Kenshin awaits… Kenshin finally meets Shishio. However, Shishio realizes that Kenshin is no longer a man-slayer and leaves the place. Will Kenshin be able to protect the people he cares regarding without breaking his “non-killing vow”?
