The kits for runners registered in the 67th edition of São Silvestre begin to be delivered today at Shopping Talatona, in Luanda, according to Tchaco Sports, a partner of the Angolan Athletics Federation (FAA)
The equipment is being delivered from 10:30 to 17:30, at Shopping Talatona, more precisely on floor two of the Arts Gallery Room, in the country’s capital. According to Tchaco Sports, a partner of the governing body for athletics on national soil, the deadline for delivery of the kits ends on Saturday.
Carlos Faria’s squad made a point of warning that the equipment will not be delivered on the day of the race in order to avoid embarrassment. On another note, the vice-president, Jorge Cruz, said that the aspects related to food and accommodation for the athletes, without neglecting the status of the route, will be addressed, on Saturday, in a press conference, at the headquarters of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF ), at Urbanização Nova Vida, in Luanda.
The starting gun will be given from 5:00 pm, at Largo da Mutamba, passing through Serpa Pinto and Maianga squares, Avenida Revolución de Outubro, Prenda tunnel, Ho-Chi Minh and Largo das Heroínas. Continue along Avenida Alameda Manuel Van-Dúnem, Avenida Comandante Valódia, Rua da Missão, Cirilo da Conceição, Avenida 4 de Fevereiro, Largo do Baleizão, Rua Manuel Fernando Caldeira and arrive at Estádio Municipal dos Coqueiros.
Remember that Kenyan Raphael Olekei won the last edition, while António Teko finished in second place. In the women’s class, Ernestina Paulino, who represents the colors of Interclube, was the winner with a time of 35 minutes and 24 seconds.
The event will feature the participation of foreign distance runners, namely from Malawi, Mauritius, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Namibia, South Africa, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Gambia, Somalia and Morocco.
