The London Marathon, in which Kenyan runner Amos Kipruto was crowned, witnesses the death of a runner, following collapsing between the 23 and 24 km of Sunday’s race.
A 36-year-old runner died on Monday while running the London Marathon, organizers said.
The London Marathon organizers said in a statement that the man collapsed between the 23rd and 24th kilometres of Sunday’s race.
The man received immediate medical treatment and an ambulance arrived quickly, but he died in a hospital in London.
The organizers offered their “sincere condolences” to the man’s friends and family, without announcing the cause of death.
It is worth noting that Kenyan Amos Kipruto won the London Marathon following running the race with a time of two hours, four minutes and 39 seconds.
