Much has been speculated regarding the “iPhone 15 Pro Max”Apple’s next top-of-the-line model, including that it will have a rear lens rearrangement, an even brighter screen, a thinner bezel, among others.

The most recent rumor, however, is one that nobody likes to know: according to analyst Jeff Puthe “iPhone 15 Pro Max” will likely be more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which currently costs from US$1,100 in the United States (BRL 10,500 in Brazil).

The rumor echoes what Pu hinted at last March when he predicted an increase in prices for the ‌”iPhone 15 Pro‌/15 Pro Max” in the US, but this is the first time he specifically cited the larger version.

Despite this, the analyst did not give a clear reason for the supposed increase, nor did he detail how much it will be, but we can speculate: this year, the larger model of the Pro line is expected to present a big difference compared to its smaller brother, including a periscope lens, in addition to all the possible new features mentioned above.

Mass production

In his most recent note, Pu also said he expects the next line of iPhones to go into mass production in Augustwhich would be in line with previous years.

Furthermore, he believes that Apple will produce regarding 84 million of units in the second half of 2023, with the two top-of-the-line models likely to be the bulkiest in the lineup in the first few months of launch. That number would also represent an increase of around 12% compared to what was seen last year with the iPhones 14, suggesting that Apple is already anticipating strong demand.

“iPhones 16”

Regarding next year’s models, Pu pointed out that the “iPhones 16” will use a new technology metality for the proximity sensor, which might help Apple drastically reduce the size of the Face ID sensor.

Finally, he said that the “iPhones 16” will also support the latest network standard Wi-Fi 7.
