However, in the last few hours, parts of a conversation that was intercepted by intelligence sources and revealed by the newspaper El Colombiano, in which men from the ranks of the Second Marquetalia would have spoken regarding the place where Iván would be buried, became known. Márquez, which they would keep secret so that the body is not found.

“We have to make sure that only we will know where the burial is going to be and that they don’t take it out,” says one of the men in the conversation, who would be alias Walter, third in command of the structure, according to sources told the Antioquia media. “There where we are going to put it, no one comes, that is very hidden, commander,” the other guerrilla replied. “Then proceed, comrade,” replies the supposed commander.
This practice is not new, since burying its members in remote and clandestine places was a common practice in the old FARC guerrillas. This is what they would have done with Manuel Marulanda, alias Tirofijo, who was the top commander of this guerrilla and died in 2008.
