Rocksteady Studios is going through its worst period at the moment, after the disastrous failure of the Suicide Squad game, and if you ask any fan of the studio, he will immediately tell you that the ideal solution is for the team to return to work on the Batman games that achieved resounding successes, and it seems that this is what is actually happening behind the scenes.
The rumor came from Nick Baker From Xbox Era on social media platform X. In the past, Baker has proven his reliability with many accurate leaks and rumors, however, he has also been off target at times.
The journalist says he heard that Rocksteady Studios is back in development on Batman games and that he thinks “Sony is trying to cash in.” For those unfamiliar with the term, cash-in refers to the use of financial incentives or bribes to gain an upper hand, usually over the competition.
Baker didn’t explicitly mention the game as an exclusive, but it’s unclear what Sony might spend on other than temporary exclusives (which it’s been known for this generation), or even permanent exclusives, which would include PS5, PS6, or both depending on when this game releases.
Assuming this rumor is accurate, don’t expect to see this game for at least a few years, which is why the PS6 is being referenced and not the PS5. The last time Rocksteady Studios developed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, it had been nine years since the team last worked on a project.
I always look for a good story, a well-crafted script, and an exciting plot in any video game, and I don’t mind touching on competitive games with innovative and exciting ideas.
