Rumor: Microsoft could plan cheaper Xbox Game Pass with advertising

Microsoft is reportedly considering introducing a cheaper version of Xbox Game Pass with ads.

This is the result of a Microsoft survey reported by users. It asks whether users would be willing to accept if the price was lower.

Concrete plans or just an idea?

According to the poll (via ResetEra and VGC) Microsoft is considering a tiered system, similar to Ubisoft+ and PlayStation Plus.

Participants should think regarding “hypothetical subscriptions”.

Such a hypothetical family plan with all the advantages of the Xbox game for five users on consoles and PC would therefore cost 22 euros per month. A $3 tier would give a user six-month delayed access to first-party games and play ads each time before playing a game from the Game Pass library.

To what extent all this is possibly more than just a mind game is unclear.
