Rummenigge: “Bellingham made the decision to move to Real Madrid early”

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who has been back at Bayern Munich since last year, reveals that the midfielder was on the club’s wish list.

Tonight, Bellingham will try to help Real Madrid reach another Champions League final. The 20-year-old needs to knock out Bayern Munich in particular.

– I can only say that in Dortmund they were happy that Bayern no longer had a chance to get him, says Rummenigge according to AS and continues.

– He made the decision to move to Real Madrid early and they should be congratulated for signing him. He scores, he assists, he fights and he works hard. He does everything very well.

The 20-year-old took over Zinedine Zidane’s old number 5 shirt when he moved to Real Madrid.

– My dad always wore a Real Madrid shirt with Zidane on the back, which is kind of funny, because in a way the circle has come full circle, says Bellingham ahead of Wednesday’s game.

Bellingham had a poor performance in the first semi-final, but will hope to help their team to a win at home at the Bernabeu stadium. The first match ended 2-2.

In his first season for Real Madrid, Bellingham has accounted for 22 goals and ten assists, in all competitions.

Real Madrid paid 103 million euros for the midfielder, equivalent to around 1.2 billion kroner.

The English national team star’s contract runs until the summer of 2029.
