The fact that the Netherlands and Turkey will play once morest each other on Saturday is very special for Rumi. He has a connection with both countries, he says. ‘I am half Turkish. My mother’s parents are from Turkey. My father’s mother is Belgian, but also lives in Turkey.’ Rumi has therefore followed all the matches of the Netherlands and Turkey.
Both good
He doesn’t know yet who will win. ‘Last European Championship, the Netherlands was stronger, but this time I think Turkey is stronger. They have a pretty good team. I especially like their defense. The Dutch team is also good, but I think their attack is less strong. If a ball goes towards the goal, there is a big chance that it will miss. But I’m not sure whether Turkey will be better on Saturday. I think they both have a chance.’
Special outfit
Rumi will watch the match on Saturday with his parents on the couch. He already has a special outfit ready, to cheer on both countries. ‘I’ll wear a Turkish T-shirt and an orange hat.’ He is looking forward to the match. ‘I’m happy anyway, because my country will definitely win. It’s a win-win for me. I just hope it’s an exciting match.’
