Ubisoft has made it clear that Assassin’s Creed is its favorite franchise these days. We already know that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is coming in October before Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe, and Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR await on the horizon. We will even return to a beloved setting if all goes as planned.
Because Ethan Gach de Kotaku has heard from two sources that Ubisoft is working on a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. It’s the one with Edward Kenway and lots of naval combat and exploration if you don’t remember. I can corroborate that to some degree, but my sources tell me the project is at such an early stage that they haven’t decided yet if it’s going to be a straight-up remake or just “to be extremely inspired” by Black Flag.
One thing that’s important to note before you celebrate loudly is that Ubisoft Singapore, the same studio making Skull and Bones these days, should be one of the main studios to do so. Sure, that’s pretty fitting considering how early development on his next game is because many love the naval aspect of Black Flag, but the making of Skull and Bones didn’t exactly go well. Either way, the new Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is still years away from even seeing the light of day, so why not share your thoughts on what this ‘remake’ should change, improve, and not touch with. us and Ubisoft.
