Six wins, one draw, seven points ahead: everything is going well for Vannes. The Breton club is the current leader of Pro D2. A championship that the Rugby Club Vannetais knows well, currently experiencing its 8th consecutive season in the antechamber of the elite. But the joy of discovering the Top 14 is long in coming. The Breton club has experienced a Pro D2 semi-final three times, without ever managing to go all the way. Will 2024 be the right one?

A Breton adventure led by Jean-Noël Spitzer. The coach, from the age of 9, already wore the Vannet jersey. Having become coach of the first team at the age of 31, he is on the verge of the Top 14. “ We have a clear mind about the difficulty of the championship and the daily investment to reach our standards. We ended last season with disappointment, but also the pride of those who gave themselves the means to believe in it until the end”, assures the Breton general manager. Today, Vannes does not want to get excited, while the competition remains tough in Pro D2.
With a solid backbone and a few experienced elements supervising promising youth, the RCV seems to have found the right formula. All this while having managed to make La Rabine an impregnable fortress. A dynamic to be confirmed this week with the reception of Biarritz, before going to Rouen then to Colomiers, two poorly ranked clubs. A block of three matches which could allow Vannes to extend its lead at the top of the standings. And so to dream a little more about the Top 14.
