After the success of the first 3 parts, the documentary series Terrain Favorable is back for a 4th season from June 1, on YouTube. As we prepare to experience the 10th edition of the Rugby World Cup in France, the series created by Société Générale and directed by Benoît Pensivy takes us this time to the Basque Country to meet two neighboring clubs , Ciboure and Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle.

For this new season of Terrain Favorable, Jonny Wilkinson and his international rugby comrades, Dan Carter, Richie McCaw, Siya Kolisi, Thierry Dusautoir, Christian Califano, Matt Giteau et Imanol Harinordoquywill coach the Ciboure and Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle teams before their derby.

Beyond the match and its preparation, our amateur players will live enriching experiences with these 8 legends of the oval ball around the societal role of rugby in South Africa, New Zealand and Madagascar, with Terres en Mêlées, a association supported by the Societe Generale Foundation C’est vous l’avenir.

Accompanying amateur clubs for several months by allowing them to benefit from the experience of international players and thus testify to strong human experiences and moments of exchange around rugby, such is the idea of Terrain Favorable. Sharing and mutual aid between former adversaries are the values carried throughout the 4 seasons of the documentary. A sport and a series that weave between these Societe Generale rugby ambassadors and these amateur players lasting links that go beyond the framework of the documentary and continue beyond.

To meet others, to discover other horizons, other realities, to live new experiences, to share emotions, such is the goal of the sidesteps of the documentary in South Africa, New Zealand or Madagascar.

Common thread of the narration, the derby – meeting between the two clubs of the South-West – will see the “Basques of the interior” opposing the “Basques of the coast”. We will see in this 4th season of Favorable Ground that what brings them together is stronger than what separates them.

And why the Basque Country? Because it is “French New Zealand”, the promised land of rugby and rugby players, with its authenticity, its songs, its diversity of landscapes and social situations.

Katia Lazarew, Head of Sports Sponsorship, Societe Generale Group : “Terrain Favorable gives us a taste of what we are going to experience with the 2023 Rugby World Cup. On and around the field, in France and also in South Africa, Madagascar, New Zealand, we find , in this season 4 team spirit, commitment, respect; all the values that Societe Generale has held and shared with the world of rugby for a long time. A season rich in emotions which once once more shows all that can be played around an oval ball, whether you are a legendary player, amateur or supporter! Together, everything is played! »
