Earlier this week, Allianz officially signed a new naming contract with the stadium.
Twickenham Stadium has joined forces with a brand for the first time in its history and will be renamed Allianz Arena.
Twickenham, the iconic rugby stadium and home of England’s rugby league team, will officially change its name from September.
Two other stadiums are already known as the “Allianz Arena”…
It remains to be seen whether the 82,000-seat stadium’s new name will be adopted and used by supporters and media on a daily basis… as the name of the stadium was changed just a few years after it was built, and
Remember, insurance companies already play a big role in naming stadiums. We can cite the Allianz Arena (Bayern Munich) or the Allianz Riviera Stadium in OGC Nice. On top of that, two other stadiums are already known as the Allianz Arena (Juventus and Sydney)! Not enough to give the British stadium in west London a real identity.
