Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev reached the third round of the ATP Masters tournament in Monte Carlo.

The 25-year-old Russian, seeded at the tournament under the fifth number, in the second round beat the Spaniard Jaume Munar, the 83rd racket of the world, with a score of 4:6, 6:2, 6:2.

His next opponent will be the winner of the confrontation between Russian Karen Khachanov and Daniel Evans (Great Britain) or Ilya Ivashko (Belarus), who have not yet played their first round match.

Rublev takes sixth place in the world ranking. The Russian has 12 ATP titles. At the Tokyo Olympics, he became the Olympic champion in the mixed doubles.

The tournament in Monte Carlo will end on April 16th. The prize fund of the competition is €5.7 million. The Masters series is second in importance only to the Grand Slam and the ATP Finals.

The match between Evans and Ivashko will take place later than 11 April. The bookmaker’s office “Fonbet” accepts bets on the victory of the British with a coefficient of 2.28, Belarusian – 1.63.
