Munich (ots) – When people need help at night, they are there: the emergency services work the night shift while others are sleeping. In “Night Shift: Working for the Lifeguards”, the everyday life of the rescue workers is shown up close – from the time the alarm is raised to the point at which the person is handed over to the emergency room. The audience also gets detailed insights through bodycams. The new season will run from March 30, 2023 at 8:15 p.m. on RTLZWEI.

The work of the emergency services requires a lot of discipline, motivation and speed, even at night. Every second counts in an emergency call. But their mission is not only to help, they often even have to save lives during operations. The audience can be there up close when the team repeatedly faces new challenges together and masters them. This closeness is mainly created by bodycam recordings.
In season two, too, the emergency services are called to a wide variety of emergencies in different cities. One thing definitely doesn’t happen on the night shift: boredom! The rescue and emergency paramedics often reach their limits, but they still work with passion and discipline.
The spectators also get insights into spectacular missions with the rescue helicopter. In North Rhine-Westphalia, transfer by helicopter is the last chance for a patient to survive. But unexpected complications arise and the team must fight for their lives.
The camera team is there when medication is administered, wounds are tended to or access is made. Falls in elderly people, resuscitation or emergencies for epilepsy are operations that rescue workers have to deal with almost every day. But traffic accidents are also part of the everyday life of the rescue teams in the second season.
RTLZWEI shows the new episodes “Night Shift: Working for Lifesavers” from March 30, 2023, on Thursdays at 8:15 p.m. The documentary series is produced by Janus TV. All episodes are available on RTL+ seven days before they are broadcast.
