In television, RTL Group draws a line under the Netherlands. After the failure of the planned merger of its subsidiary with the Dutch Talpa Network in January, the European audiovisual giant announced this Friday the sale of RTL Nederland to the DPG Media group, for 1.1 billion euros in cash.
“After our national consolidation strategy was blocked by the competition authorities in January 2023, the sale to DPG Media is the best strategic option for RTL Nederland and all its stakeholders,” said RTL boss Thomas Rabe Group.
