RTL Belgium officially belongs to DPG Media and the Rossel Group

In June 2021, DPG Media and the Rossel Group announced their intention to acquire RTL Belgium. This acquisition is now complete: DPG Media and Groupe Rossel are now each 50% shareholder of RTL Belgium, which includes the television channels RTL TVI, Club RTL and Plug RTL, the radio stations Bel RTL & Radio Contact as well as their web radios. , the RTLplay streaming service, the RTL Info information platform and the IP network.

This acquisition is part of the ambition of the new shareholders to structurally strengthen the Belgian media landscape. Efforts will be made to accelerate the digital transformation of RTL Belgium’s radio and television channels. Short-form and long-form online video is indeed a market that offers many growth levers, as does radio, which also offers opportunities with the development of digital and podcasting.

The evolution towards digital also opens up a range of new possibilities for advertisers by offering them future more efficient and innovative offers.

The new shareholders know each other well. The Rossel Group and DPG Media jointly managed Mediafin (the publisher of Echo and Tijd, among others) for thirteen years and their agencies have been partners for many years (PNU).
