Parts of the Accident and Emergency Department of Tuen Mun Hospital were flooded during the heavy rain at 1:00 p.m. today. The hospital said that the emergency room of the Accident and Emergency Department, some consultation locations, and the underground part of the operating room building were flooded. The emergency department services were once affected. 12 patients who called for ambulances needed to be sent directly by ambulance to the emergency departments of Pok Oi Hospital and Tin Shui Wai Hospital for treatment. As for the patients who went to the emergency department of Tuen Mun Hospital by themselves, they had to wait for a long time time.
The hospital said emergency repairs and clearing of the clogged stormwater well were arranged. The repair work was completed at 4 p.m., and emergency department services resumed normal.
