From 1is July, the average price increases for using the buses of the Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) will be 2.5%. The carrier qualifies this increase as a “moderate increase aimed at offering affordable and attractive titles in a context of resumption of traffic”.

The general ticket for one passage, which is currently sold at $3.25, will soon cost $3.40. For payment in cash, the cost of $3.75 remains unchanged.
The monthly subscription increases from $91.95 to $94.50, while the monthly subscription for students and for seniors 65 and over increases from $61.30 to $63.
Created in 2021, the popular batch of 20 tickets increases by $2 and goes from $59 to $61.
The two FestiBus tickets, valid for the Festival d’été de Québec period, will increase slightly and will be available from 1is July.
Towards a return to 84% of pre-pandemic traffic
According to the president of the RTC, Maude Mercier Larouche, “the new fee schedule demonstrates the efforts of the RTC to retain customers, despite the funding challenges we are facing.”
The latter added “that by continuing to adjust to customers’ travel habits and by offering more flexibility, we are in a good position to achieve our objective of returning to 84% of pre-pandemic ridership by the end of the year 2023”.
The new fee schedule was adopted Wednesday evening during the regular meeting of the RTC board of directors. Moreover, this session took place in the presence of regarding twenty RTC bus drivers who are currently in negotiations for the renewal of their collective agreement. Without saying a word, these union members of the CSN held up signs in which they expressed their opposition to subcontracting.
