The White House said Thursday (Dec. 14) that Sanofi and AstraZeneca (AstraZeneca) plans to deliver an additional 230,000 doses of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine to infants in January. 2024 following US officials held discussions with both companies regarding winter vaccine delivery.

Sanofi said in a statement: The company will deliver a total of 1.4 million doses of its vaccine to the U.S. this year. This is 25% more than initially expected.

Officials from US President Joe Biden’s administration have held regular meetings with Sanofi and AstraZeneca. to jointly develop an RSV vaccine for infants and toddlers called Beyfortus.
