RRT Strategic Management Group analyst Viktorija Goferienė said that the most revenue (56.6 million euros) in the second quarter was received from sending postal parcels – it accounted for 81.2 percent. of total revenue of the postal sector.
“Such a significant market share was determined by the fact that 67.6 percent all shipments consisted of postal parcels, the number of which increased by 16.5 percent in the second quarter compared to the second quarter of 2023. up to 14.6 million units. At that time, the number of correspondence shipments continued to decrease (20.5%) and reached 7 million. units”, she said in the RRT report.
The largest share of shipments continues to be domestic shipments – 61.5 percent. Their number decreased by 0.3 percent during the year, while the number of international shipments increased by 3.6 percent.
According to the analyst, the trends in evaluating postal items by delivery method did not change during the year.
“The largest part of postal parcels (57.9%) can be picked up at postal machines, but in the field of correspondence, 36.5% parcels were delivered to the recipient at his place of residence or domicile. This is 1.8 percent. point more than was placed in the mailboxes,” said V. Goferienė.
“Omniva LT” delivered almost half (44.4%) of all postal items to post machines. As of the end of 2023, it had 27.9 percent. of all post machines in Lithuania.
