Royal family would ‘collapse’ without Kate as ‘future rests on her’

Not just since the death of Queen Elizabeth II sharpen last September Prinz William and his Frau Kate their profile as the future royal couple of Great Britain. In previous years, when Elizabeth reduced her public appearances for reasons of age, the royal commitments of the two increased. They appear relaxed and natural – especially by royal standards – and thus gain a lot of sympathy. Both are committed to environmental and nature conservation issues as well as projects to promote mental health. They are often said to be the modern face of the monarchy.

Kate has a huge responsibility

According to the former butler of Princess Diana, Paul Burrellbut it is above all Kate who is important for the royal family and its reputation.

She is in an “incredible position because really everything depends on her‘ Burrell mused to the newspaper The Mirror. “The future rests with Kate and that is a huge responsibility. If she decided that she no longer wanted to continue her marriage, I think the royal family would collapse.”

Catherine Middleton, Princess Kate’s real name, has gained a reputation among the British as a dutiful, always reserved representative of the royal family. At public appearances, she shows herself to be very close to the people and repeatedly poses with admirers for photos together.

Burrell was her butler from 1987 until Diana’s death in 1997. In a 2002 trial, he was acquitted of charges of having stolen numerous personal souvenirs from royal property. In 2003, he caused a stir with a book in which he revealed salacious details of his former boss’s marital crisis. A year later he took part in the British TV jungle camp.
