It has been haunting the internet for a long time, now Royal Enfied has officially presented the scrambler version of the Himalayan travel enduro. Her name: Scram 411.
The Indian manufacturer Royal Enfield presents the Scram 411, a fashionable scrambler on the technical basis of the Himalayan, known as a travel enduro. This indicates that this Scrambler is not a street motorcycle weighing more than 200 kg that rolls along on chunky tires (which are pointless for this category). The Himalayan is specified with 199 kg with a full tank.
The chassis and engine are practically unchanged from the Himalayan. The single-cylinder with 411 cc delivers 24 hp at 6500 rpm and 32 Nm at 4000 rpm. The most striking change is a 19 inch front wheel instead of the 21 inch front wheel of the Himalayan. For this purpose, the front suspension travel has been reduced from 200 to 190 mm. At the rear, the 17 wheel and 180 mm suspension travel remain the same.
There are further adjustments to the design: The small fairing and the high-mounted front fender of the Himalayan are replaced by a classic round headlight and a low-mounted fender. There are new, modernized instruments in the cockpit, the trippy navigation module is standard. The seat is new in one piece.
The Royal Enfield Scram 411 should be available in Europe as early as April, in five color variants. Nothing is known regarding the price, but the difference to the Himalayan, which is offered from 4700 euros, should not be significant.
