After the recent controversy and rumors regarding the edited family photo, the Princess of Wales is facing a new crisis, following Reuters said that it had spotted a second royal photo that Kate Middleton had taken herself and published by Kensington Palace “that had undergone modifications.”

Reuters reported on Tuesday that a second royal photo published by Kensington Palace to the media “has undergone modifications in 8 locations,” following an analysis conducted by the agency’s photo editors.

The photo, which was published in April of last year to celebrate the ninety-seventh birthday of the late Queen Elizabeth, showed her among a group of her grandchildren and their children.

Kensington Palace, the office headquarters of Prince William and his wife Kate in London, said at the time that the princess (42 years old) took the photo at the Scottish royal residence at Balmoral Castle last summer.

Getty Images informed its customers earlier Tuesday that the photo taken at Balmoral had been “digitally modified from source for the purpose of improvement,” without providing further details.

Although Getty, Reuters, and other news organizations did not discover any problem with the image at the time, an examination by photo editors at Reuters concluded that there was clear modification in 8 parts of the image, using digital reproduction.

Reuters has not yet been able to determine the reason for making the amendments.

Height and lights… Rumors haunt Kate Middleton, despite her recent appearance

The speculation surrounding the Princess of Wales has not stopped. Kate Middleton, following publishing a short clip of her shopping following a long absence that followed surgery last January, which sparked a wave of speculation that reached the point of saying that she may have died.

Digital reproduction involves copying pixels, either to move or hide objects or parts of the image.

Kensington Palace in London declined to comment on the photo.

A Reuters spokesperson said: “Reuters is currently updating its vetting procedures for images from Kensington Palace, following confirming that a second image has been edited. In line with the Thomson Reuters Trust Principles, Reuters is committed to ensuring that images meet its editorial standards of quality, accuracy and reliability.”

This month, Reuters and a number of other leading news organizations withdrew another photo of Kate with her three children, released by the palace on the occasion of Mother’s Day, following a post-publication analysis showed that it “did not meet their editorial standards.”

The next day, Kate issued an apology on the “X” platform, in which she said: “Like many amateur photographers, I sometimes experiment with editing. I want to express my apologies for any confusion caused by the family photo that we published yesterday.”

The problem with the edited photos comes amid widespread speculation on social media regarding Kate’s health, since she underwent abdominal surgery last January.

On Monday, Kate appeared in video clips for the first time since her surgery, in a video clip published by the British newspaper “The Sun”.

Kate was leaving a market with her husband, Prince William, carrying bags. The princess looked comfortable and smiling in the video, which appears to have been filmed without their knowledge.

But before this video, speculation increased around the world regarding what was happening with the princess, especially since she had disappeared from sight since the official announcement that she had undergone abdominal surgery, without revealing any details other than that it was not related to a cancerous disease.
