In the first instance, the doctors will perform several sessions of chemotherapy, radiotherapy “and also surgery”; Said procedures will be staggered in accordance with the criteria established by the panel of experts in order to “harmonize, as far as possible, with the responsibility we have with Colombians”. Immediately followingwards, he explained that the reforms proposed by the national government and that must be discussed in Congress must be processed in the shortest possible time.

Under this scenario, he explained that the health reform (which has not been presented to the Legislature) must include a proper functioning of the insurance system “with the recovered public hospital network and the dignity of health workers”; For this reason, he assured his commitment in the presidency of Congress will not only be with the country, but with his family “who has been accompanying with great strength.”

Finally, Barreras reiterated to the aforementioned medium that routine medical check-ups should be done and more following the age of 50: “It is good to have check-ups, ladies should do them to prevent cancer that is curable, such as breast cancer, cervical cancer; the gentlemen prostate cancer and also colon cancer”, emphasizing once more that he will soon be cured of this pathology.
