Roxane Bruneau’s anxiety issues come to the forefront in documentary Roxane Bruneau: in her own waywhich will be broadcast next Sunday following the first episode of the 10e season of The voice.
This hour of TV shows that despite her success, Roxane Bruneau is not always at the top of her form. This is an opportunity to talk openly regarding mental health, an issue that is less and less taboo in our society.
“All this tension, I thought I would explode before going on stage each evening because I thought I wouldn’t be able to perform on stage anymore. I told myself it’s over, I’m finished,” says the new coach of The voice in an excerpt shared on Monday.

If her “demons” are explored by director Charles Martel, we also find the Roxane Bruneau that we know, with her joys, her enthusiasm and her exuberance.
“From the outside it still looks beautiful. When the cameras go off and the curtain farmit can become extremely ugly,” continues the 32-year-old artist.

“We had days off and they wanted to plan activities, and I didn’t get involved in anything. I wanted to stay in my room, I was in a bad mood. I didn’t want to go to the restaurant, go there,” she says.

Valérie Hamel, Roxane Bruneau’s manager, also testifies in the documentary. “There was definitely a time when it was more intense for her. I had the impression that she had lost herself,” she emphasizes.

Jonathan Dubuc, who accompanied the singer on tour and who is described as her “nanny”, adds: “Honestly, it was the tour in Gaspésie that changed everything. We are in Gaspésie, we look at Rocher Percé and she experiences zero emotion. “She’s completely overcome with anxiety.”

The documentary concocted by Productions Déferlantes (The voice, Get me out of here!, The true nature) is interested in the atypical journey of Roxane Bruneau, who first made a name for herself on social networks. It is a “profoundly human story of perseverance and determination”, they underline to give us the taste of being there during the broadcast, on Sunday January 21, at 9 p.m., on TVA. The 60 minutes will also be available on the TVA+ platform.
