the essential Lake Uby, located in Cazaubon, was chosen to organize major rowing competitions, short boats, then international regattas. On to the 2024 agenda.
For around fifty years, Lake Uby has been increasingly appreciated by rowers and the governing bodies of the French Rowing Federation (FFSA), for its regularity and proximity to the public. This Gers site, in an exceptional setting, has become essential for French rowing.
The first major event concerns the interregional championships which will take place on Saturday March 23 and Sunday March 24. These short boat championships bring together the elite of rowers from clubs in the South-West.
That weekend, the many rowers present will come and get their tickets to participate in the French championships, which will take place at Lake Uby from April 5 to 7, 2024.
For the public, it will be an opportunity to come and encourage the best J18 (junior), senior and para-rowing rowers, and to discover these high-level athletes, some of whom have passed the selections for the Paris Olympic Games. At each sporting event, the level of the rowers being quite high, promises exciting French championships.
The public will be able to witness great challenges and great races over the two kilometers of the course, with obviously the finals on Sunday April 7, which will give rise to intense moments.
International regattas
One week following these championships, the Cazaubon International Regattas will take place on Saturday April 13 and Sunday April 14, 2024.
These competitions are an honor to the Aviron-Armagnac-Club, to the town, to the department, as well as to the region. The municipality, the FFSA, the Ligue Occitanie and the Armagnac rowing club specify that during these sporting events, parking and access are free, that catering with a refreshment bar is on the site, as well as stands of local products, a covered finish stand, and a giant screen allowing you to follow each race in its entirety.
