Route to Puerto Indio: irrigation of asphalt primer began in the second lot

Asunción, IP Agency.- The works that will provide an all-weather road on the PY21 Puerto Indio – Empalme Supercarretera route are progressing at a good pace. The work focuses on the irrigation of asphalt primer in the second lot of the project.

The mayor of Mbaracayú, Nanci Algarín, accompanied by a municipal delegation, made an inspection visit to closely observe the progress of these works, long desired by the entire community.

This ambitious road improvement plan covers 60.3 km and is executed through a Road Construction and Maintenance Contract by Service Levels (CCOMA).

There are two sections into which this work is divided: Lot 1, which extends from km 0 to km 27, is under the responsibility of the company Benito Roggio e Hijos SA, with the supervision of the Grimaux – Electroconsult Consortium.

For its part, Lot 2, which goes from km 27 to km 60.3, is in charge of the company LT SA, supervised by the TYPSA – AII Consortium, reported the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).

An intervention that will boost development in the area

The MOPC leads this initiative, which has financial support from the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF). The schedule establishes a period of 30 months for the completion of the paving work, followed by a 60-month maintenance phase.

This road intervention will not only improve transportation infrastructure, but will also boost the economic and agricultural development of the region, strengthening its position as one of the most important productive hubs in the country.
