Five people were killed and four others were seriously injured. as a result of a road accident between a long-distance bus and a truckoccurred in the last hours of last night at kilometer 117 of the National Route 34in the province of Santa Fe, official sources reported today.
The five fatalities, whose identities have not yet been released, were traveling in the bus of the travel and tourist services company “Torres Hermanos” in the province of Santiago del Estero, police sources told Télam.
One of the deceased was the bus driver and the rest were passengers.
“There are five people who died, all belonging to the group,” a police spokesman told Télam, adding that there are “four people seriously injured.”
The driver of the truck, for his part, was unharmed because the collision with the bus occurred “in the semi-trailer,” the sources added.

The road accident occurred last night around 11:45 p.m. at kilometer 117 of National Route 34, between the towns of Casas and Las Bandurrias, in the San Martín department of central-western Santa Fe.
The wounded are treated at the local health centers of Cañada Rosquín and El Trébol, and at a clinic in the town of San Genaro, the sources specified.
They added that the rest of the passenger, who did not suffer injuries, remained at the Cañada Rosquín fire station waiting to give a statement in the legal case initiated by the road accident.
According to the first inquiries, the bus had left Santiago del Estero and was traveling in the direction of the city of Buenos Aires.
While the truck was traveling in the opposite direction when, for reasons that are the subject of investigation, it hit the bus with its semi-trailer, which was carrying 50 people.
After the collision, the bus “continued along the shoulder and regarding 200 meters stopped on a tree, in a field,” they explained to Télam from the Cañada Rosquín fire station, which participated in the operation.
Firefighters from the towns of Carlos Pellegrini and El Trébol also intervened.
The investigation of the fact is in the hands of the Prosecutor’s Office No. 150 of the town of San Genaro.
This morning the passengers of the bus gave a statement while they waited at the Cañada Rosquín Fire Station for another bus to be transferred to Santiago del Estero.
