The rotation process for ambassadors will last from three to four years, thus changing the practice of staying for an indefinite period, said this Thursday, 9th, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
“We already had Angolan ambassadors who stayed in the same country for two decades, 20 years”, said the president, underlining that it is intended to correct this process.
The Angolan Head of State made the announcement during the swearing-in ceremony of the sixteen ambassadors appointed last Tuesday.
According to João Lourenço, the rotation process was already imposed, as it is a normal practice in other countries, also highlighting that “Angolan diplomacy has known, in recent times, a great dynamic, recognized by all”.
“The Head of State and the Minister of Foreign Affairs have done their part and we expect the ambassadors to work towards promoting Angola’s good image, attracting foreign private investment and international tourism to Angola”, he guided.
