Wayne Rooney has mocked former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo’s comment that the Manchester United legend is jealous of the Portuguese star.
Rooney said this week that the 37-year-old’s summer signing had not worked out with United, despite being the club’s top scorer this season.
Ronaldo responded by saying that his former teammate might be “jealous” of him when he commented on an Instagram post regarding Rooney.

Rooney admitted that all current players must be jealous of Ronaldo, saying: “I saw it this morning.”
He continued: “I would say that there is probably no footballer on this planet who is not jealous of Cristiano.”
He explained: “His career, the titles he won, the money he earned, and his stomach muscles. Every player except Lionel Messi is jealous of Cristiano.”
What does Ronaldo offer this season?
Ronaldo is Old Trafford’s top scorer this season, scoring 12 goals in 24 Premier League games for Ralph Rangnick’s side and making three assists.
Meanwhile, he scored six goals in seven Champions League matches before being eliminated from the Champions League in the round of 16.
It is worth noting that Manchester United are preparing to face Everton on Saturday in the 32nd round of the English Premier League.
