Cristiano Ronaldo will not be on the posters with the stars of the 2022 World Cup due to the loss of status in Manchester United.
According to ESPN, citing its sources, the striker “Manchester United” was not among the 32 stars of the tournament (one from each team), posters with which the organizers of the 2022 World Cup will place on the skyscrapers of Doha. This decision is due to the fact that Ronaldo is losing his status at Manchester United.
It is expected from Portugal one of the younger national team players will be placed on the poster.
Negotiations with player representatives and national associations over the image rights of some players are still ongoing, but sources say that the face of the Brazilian national team will be Neymar. England will be represented by Harry Kane, Uruguay – Luis SuarezCroatia – Luka Modric, Senegal – Sadio Mane, Canada – Alphonso Davis, and the face of the Qatar national team will be its captain Hassan Al Haidos.
As noted, the Argentina national team has not yet decided on the player whose image will be placed on the poster.
