Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his great confidence in his country’s qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, on Tuesday, at the expense of North Macedonia in the European play-off final.

Ronaldo said before the match, “Tomorrow is a final for us, are we the favourites? I don’t understand this a bit, but I consider myself always the favorite to win, whether I’m playing at home or away.”

The Portuguese star added: “We realize that winning means qualifying for the World Cup, and losing means our failure to rise. We have a great responsibility to be positive and win the match, and Macedonia has surprised in several matches, but I think it will not surprise us tomorrow. Portugal will be better and will qualify for the World Cup.”

And regarding the possibility of a World Cup without Ronaldo, “Madeira missile” replied, saying: “There is no World Cup without Portugal, there is no place for individual here, we are a group, and the talk is in the plural.”

The Portuguese national team will face its North Macedonian counterpart today, Tuesday, at the Dragao Stadium in Porto, in the final of the European play-off that qualifies for the 2022 World Cup.

The Portuguese national team reached the play-off final at the expense of its Turkish counterpart, following defeating it (3-1) in the match that brought them together last Thursday, also at the “Dragao” stadium.

While the North Macedonia national team blew a surprise of the caliber, by defeating its Italian counterpart, a four-time world champion, with a single goal, at home, to miss the “Azzurri” for the second time in a row from the international football wedding.
