After the death of his little son, he Manchester United playing soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo thanked rivals Liverpool FC and their fans for their condolences.
Ronaldo commented on Thursday Instagram a video of the solidarity action in the stadium of the FC Liverpool at Anfield and wrote: “One world… One sport… One universal family. Thank you Anfield.”

“My family and I will never forget this moment of respect and compassion,” added the Portuguese striker. Normally, Manchester United and Liverpool FC are bitter rivals. At the important game between the two Premier League teams on Tuesday, the staff and fans of Liverpool FC had but clapped for Ronaldo for a minute.
The action took place in the seventh minute of the game – in reference to Ronaldo’s jersey number seven. The club anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” was sung in the fan curve.
Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodríguez had on Monday announced the death of her young son. Of the twins Rodríguez was pregnant with, only the girl survived.
