Ronaldo receives an offer .. and the management of Man United refuses his departure

Baghdad / Nina The British newspaper, The Sun, reported that Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has urged Manchester United to set his price so that he can accept the offer made by one of United’s competitors.

Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes held direct talks with the Manchester United administration this week, in an attempt to solve the problem of his future, in light of his desire to leave the club and move to a club that participates in the Champions League next season.

According to the newspaper, Mendes told the Manchester United chiefs that he has a direct offer, but the club must set his transfer price until the deal is settled, while the club rejected that and said they would not let Ronaldo go.

Manchester United also rejected a proposal to release him a year before the end of his contract on a free transfer due to what has been described as his loyalty to the club.

Ronaldo has one year left on his current contract, but United have the option to extend that contract for another 12 months.

Andy Mitten, editor of United We Stand, told Sky Sports that in the fan poll, 91% of fans want the club to get rid of Ronaldo now.

The 37-year-old Portugal international missed the club’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia for “family reasons”, but returned to training without playing a behind-closed-doors friendly once morest Wrexham in Carrington (the team’s training ground) on Wednesday.

It also appears unlikely that he will be involved in next week’s friendlies, as the club sent a strong squad to face Atletico Madrid in Oslo on Friday that does not include Ronaldo.

Ronaldo was Manchester United’s top scorer last season with 24 goals, but the club ranked sixth with 58 points, which is its lowest number ever in the English Premier League era./End 3
