Minister Secretary General of Government, Camila Vallejo, confirmed the return of the family of the former Venezuelan lieutenant and mentioned that they will be evaluating what actions to take and where to move.

The Minister of the General Secretariat of Government, Camila Vallejo, confirmed that the family of former Venezuelan lieutenant Ronald Ojeda returned to Chile after failing to obtain political asylum from the Argentine government.

The recent attempt to resettle retired Lieutenant Ronald Ojeda’s widow and son in Argentina came after they reported surveillance and hacking attempts from Venezuela in our country, in addition to pointing out the lack of security following the murder of her husband.

The Secretary of State confirmed that the family is already back in Chilean territory. Vallejo said that the first thing “is that we understand that the family is not in Argentina, but that they returned to Chile. They will be evaluating what actions to take and where to go,” she said.

Yesterday, the Costa Rican justice system ordered the activation of the extradition process for Mickael Villegas, suspected of the kidnapping and murder of former Venezuelan lieutenant Ronald Ojeda.

This is after the Criminal Court of the First Judicial Circuit of San José issued a provisional arrest warrant for the purposes of extradition, capture and prohibition of leaving the country against Villegas.
